Madelaines

Tend to steer clear of self-service coffee erstablishments. I don’t do take out coffee. Am not going anywhere. But I make an exception for Madelaines in Petersfield.

Sugar sachets as well. Those nasty little bits of left over paper. Evidence that I overdo it.

Then there is the selection of quiche and salads at the deli counter. Not my usual choice for a mid-morning snack.

But Madelaine’s is different.

Despite the intrusive ping of the buzzer alarms used to summons one to the counter. The coffee warrants a second cup and the selection of quiche and Mediterranean looking flaky pastries is enough to tempt anyone.
